SEPCOL’s technical functions is managed by a technical advisory group comprising:
 

Chief G. E. Opara   A petroleum geoscientist by training, member of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society and a fellow of both the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists and the Geological Society of Africa. He retired as a chief geophysicist and project manager for Mobil Exploration in various African countries. He has been a consultant to many (indigenous and multinational) exploration and production companies in Nigeria and one of the pioneers in bringing an indigenous exploration and production company (Atlas Petroleum) to production.
